🅔🅝🅖 I started my day waking up at 6:15 a.m., then I updated my The Reading Rush profile and went in the garden.
Here I wanted to complete the challenge of "reading a book and watching its movie adapatation", I read "The Picture of Dorian Gray" and as I had the movie "Dorian Gray" (a movie from 2009 directed by Oliver Parker and in which Dorian was played by Ben Barnes) on my computer I started it.
My friend who gave it to me warned me about it, saying that it was really bad, but I tried to get in with good expectations.
That wasn't a wise choice of mine. I should have listened to her.
It really is very very bad.
🅘🅣 Ho iniziato la mia giornata svegliandomi alle 6:00, dopo ho aggiornato il mio profilo di The Reading Rush e sono andata in giardino.
Qui vooevo completare la sfida di "leggere un libro e vedere il suo adattamento cinematografico", ho letto "Il Ritratto di Dorian Gray" e dato che avo il film "Dorian Gray" (film del 2009 diretto da Oliver Parker e in cui Dorian è interpretato da Ben Barnes) sul computer ho deciso di iniziarlo.
La mia amica che me l'ha passato, mi aveva messo in guardia, dicendo che era davvero brutto, ma ho tentato di vederlo con delle buone aspettative.
Non è stata una scelta saggia. Avrei dovuto ascoltarla.
È davvero molto brutto.

🅔🅝🅖 The story is completely distorted and turned into something filled with horror and lust.
The sex scenes compose mostly of the movie, but in the book there is none. So where did they come from?!
Dorian is portraied as a young man who is always in search for new sensations and pleasures, and in fact he is, but not for those which were portraied.
Pleasure could come from listening to music, or playing an instrument, looking at pictures... ecc, Dorian is not only corruption, he is not only a sum of all sins. He wants to make pleasure to his religion, but it should not always be interpreted as something immoral. In fact in the book, in Chapter Eleven (yes, the boring one) he experiments with so many things to look for new sensations, like jewels and tapestries, or gemstones and christianity.
🅘🅣 La storia è completamente distorta e trasformata in un qualcosa dominato dall'orrore e dalla lussuria.
Le scene d'intimità compongono la maggior parte del film, ma nel libro non ne è presente nemmeno una. Quindi da dove sono saltate fuori?!
Dorian è rappresentato come un giovane uomo sempre in cerca di sensazioni e piaceri, e infatti lo è, ma non di quelle che sono ritratte nel film.
Il piacere può derivare dall'ascoltare una musica, o suonare uno strumento, guardare dei quadri...ecc, Dorian non è soltanto corruzione, non è solo una somma di tutti i peccati. Vuole fare del piacere la sua religione, ma questo non dev'essere sempre interpretato come qualcosa di immorale.
Infatti nel libro, nel Capitolo Undici (sì, quello noioso) sperimenta con così tante cose per trovare delle nuove sensazioni, come i gioielli e gli arazzi, o le pietre preziose e il cristianesimo.

🅔🅝🅖Also the movie seems to be translated into a horror one. Which the book is not. It is not a frightening story, but in the movie every single phrase is said with a grave tone, the music is terrifying, as the music of a horror movie, induciong you to think that something horrible is going to happen.
🅘🅣 Poi il film sembra trasformarsi in un film dell'orrore. Cosa che il libro non è. Non è una storia spaventosa, ma nel film ogni signola frase è pronunciata con un tono grave, la musica è terrificante, come quella dei film dell'orrore, e ti induce a pensare che stia per accadere qualcosa di orribile.
🅔🅝🅖 Even the flashbacks about his grandfather were represented as disturbing scenes, I understand that he was not nice to his nephew, but he mostly ignored him. In the movie the grandad flogs Dorian. Why?
And when we see the first flashback about this, we only see Dorian as a little kid trying to hide and then a closed door, behind which a tremendous voice is whispering his name, as if it was the voice of a killer. I alsmost laughed at it, this should not be portraied like this. It was so bad executed that it was funny.
🅘🅣 Persino i flashback su suo nonno sono rappresentati come delle scene disturbanti, mi rendo conto che non fosse gentile nei confronti del nipote, ma più che altro lo ignorava. Nel film il nonno frusta Dorian. Perché?
E poi quando vediamo il primo flashback riguardante questo, vediamo soltanto Dorian da piccolo che sta cercando di nascondersi e pii una porta chiusa, da dietro la quale proviene una voce tremenda che sussurra il suo nome, come se fosse la voce di un killer. Sono quasi scoppiata a ridere, non doveva essere rappresentato in questo modo. È stato eseguito talmente male da essere divertente.

🅔🅝🅖 And when Dorian, during his voyage around the world (which is inexistent in the book) writes letters to Harry and these are read out loud in a deep scary voice? He writes very normal thigs, a bit eccentric, as Herry has taught him, but nothing frightening. He was there saying thing like "I am the fire" with a terrible voice. I almost bursted into laughter again.
And Emily? Why is she evene here? Dorian flirts with Gladys in the book, Harry's cousin, not the daughter! What a terrible plot twist.
🅘🅣 E poi Dorian durante il suo viaggio in giro per il mondo (che è inesistente nel libro) scrive delle lettere a Harry e queste sono lette ad alta voce in una voce profonda e terrificante? Scrive delle cose molto normali, un po' eccentriche, come Harry gli ha insegnato, ma nulla di pauroso. Era lì a dire cose come "io sono il fuoco" con una voce terribile. Sono quasi scoppiata a ridere di nuovo.
E Emily? Perché è presente nel film? Dorian flirta con Gladys nel libro, la cugina di Harry, non sua figlia! Che colpo di scena terribile.

🅔🅝🅖 Finally the picture itself. It seemed to have a life of its own, how horrible. It shouldn't be a monster, but a simple representation of Dorian's sins, as if it were written down, only that it were painted on his portrait, engraved on his soul.
I must admit that I skipped some scenese. Others I didn't watch, but only heard the sounds, which didn't make things better, but I simply couldn't watch. It disgusted me. All the creepy sounds, the whispers and the slimy sound of the murders. Why were they in it? It is not a horror story!
🅘🅣 Infine il dipinto stesso. Sembrava essere dotato di vita propria, orribile. Non doveva essere un mostro, ma semplicemente una rappresentazione dei peccati di Dorian, come se questi fossero scritti, solo che in questo caso erano dipinti sul suo ritratto, incisi nella sua anima.
Devo ammettere che ho saltato delle scene. Da altre non guardavo, ma ascoltavo soltanto i suoni, anche se non è che migliorasse le cose, ma semplicemente non potevo vederle. Mi disgustavano. Tutti i suoni da far accapponare la pelle, i sussurri e i suoni viscidi delle uccisioni. Perché erano presenti? Non è una storia horror!
🅘🅣 Infine il dipinto stesso. Sembrava essere dotato di vita propria, orribile. Non doveva essere un mostro, ma semplicemente una rappresentazione dei peccati di Dorian, come se questi fossero scritti, solo che in questo caso erano dipinti sul suo ritratto, incisi nella sua anima.
Devo ammettere che ho saltato delle scene. Da altre non guardavo, ma ascoltavo soltanto i suoni, anche se non è che migliorasse le cose, ma semplicemente non potevo vederle. Mi disgustavano. Tutti i suoni da far accapponare la pelle, i sussurri e i suoni viscidi delle uccisioni. Perché erano presenti? Non è una storia horror!
🅔🅝🅖 As you see, I have many thoughts about it.
As for the reading I started "The Silent Companions", which I'm reading in Italian. And it's okay so far, not as engaging as I though it would be.
🅘🅣 Come potete vedere, ho molto da dire in merito.
Per quanto riguarda la lettura, ho iniziato "Gli Amici Silenziosi", che sto leggendo in Italiano. Ed è okay per il momento, non così coinvolgente come pensavo.

🅘🅣 Come potete vedere, ho molto da dire in merito.
Per quanto riguarda la lettura, ho iniziato "Gli Amici Silenziosi", che sto leggendo in Italiano. Ed è okay per il momento, non così coinvolgente come pensavo.
